Erica was born and raised in Brampton Ontario as an only child, but with strong family roots here in Newfoundland she ventured back to the beautiful town of Salmon Cove in 2008. Erica has always been passionate about animals and grew up owning cats, fish, a dog, hamsters, newts, lizards and snakes- she always knew she wanted a career working with furry (& scaled) creatures- She graduated Academy Canada’s Veterinary Assistant Program in 2015. Erica has now been in the veterinary industry for 5+ years where she worked both inside and outside the province as a veterinary surgical assistant and has a special soft spot for exotic animals and orange cats. Erica joined the Kenmount Road Animal Hospital family in January 2022 as an Exam Room Manager (ERM) where you will typically find her greeting you with a friendly smile during your appointment, taking detailed patient histories for our doctors, and assisting with diagnostics in the treatment area.

Known as the “crazy animal lady” by her friends, Erica shares her home and heart with her three cats, Lucy, Lyra and Sylvie along with her sweet boxer pup, Ramsey and her ball Python, Sunny.

Some of Erica’s favorite things to do include getting out for a day on the water in her kayak, hiking a new trail and taking lots of pictures of scenery and nature with her dog, cooking, reading and leisurely horseback riding.

Erica is passionate about her job at Kenmount Road Animal Hospital and she loves that every day is just a little bit different- A day where she can help make animals feel better and answer client questions count as a good day in her books!
