Hannah joined our team in October 2024, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for exceptional patient care. A graduate of the Veterinary Technician Program at Seneca College in Ontario (Class of 2019), Hannah began her career in general practice before moving to Newfoundland in 2022. Over the past two years, she has honed her skills in referral medicine, specializing in surgery and anesthesia.
At KRAH, Hannah is an integral part of our team, working primarily in the treatment area and operating room. She excels in surgery monitoring, anesthesia management, and providing tailored care for pets with unique needs. With a particular interest in companion animal rehabilitation, Hannah continues to expand her expertise to help pets recover and thrive.
When she’s not at work, Hannah loves exploring the stunning landscapes of Newfoundland and cherishes trips back to Ontario to visit family, friends, and her beloved dog, Geordie.
Questions
-
What’s your favorite animal and why?
Sheep! During tech school, I spent a lot of time working with them and discovered how funny and endearing they are. Little lambs are especially adorable—they’re so playful and love to snuggle together in big, fluffy piles!
-
Can you describe a heartwarming moment you’ve experienced at the hospital?
One of the most heartwarming moments is when a sick patient finally starts eating again. It takes trust and comfort for them to reach that point, and knowing I’ve helped them feel safe and cared for makes it an incredibly rewarding experience.
-
What’s your pet’s name, and why did you choose it?
Our family has a goofy doodle named Geordie! She’s named in honor of my mom’s family, who are from Newcastle, England, where locals are affectionately called “Geordies.” It’s a name that’s full of personality—just like her!
-
What inspired you to work in this industry?
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to work with animals. In high school, I had the opportunity to work at a veterinary clinic, where I discovered the role of an RVT. I was drawn to how hands-on and patient-focused the position is and knew it was the perfect path for me. As an RVT, I get to be an advocate for my patients and a voice for those who can’t speak for themselves—a role that brings me fulfillment.

What advancements in veterinary medicine are you most excited about?
I’m especially excited about the growing availability and knowledge surrounding companion animal rehabilitation. It’s an incredible resource for helping recovering patients regain mobility and return to their best selves. Plus, it’s fantastic for weight management and keeping pets active and healthy throughout their lives.
