Originally from Brampton, Ontario, Erica moved to the charming town of Salmon Cove, NL, in 2008, reconnecting with her family roots. A lifelong animal lover, Erica grew up caring for a wide variety of pets, including cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, newts, lizards, and snakes, inspiring her to pursue a career working with animals. She graduated from Academy Canada’s Veterinary Assistant Program in 2015 and has been in the veterinary industry for over five years, with experience as a veterinary surgical assistant both inside and outside the province. Erica has a special soft spot for exotic animals and orange cats.

Since joining Kenmount Road Animal Hospital in January 2022, Erica has become a vital part of the team as an Exam Room Manager. You’ll often find her welcoming clients with a warm smile, taking detailed patient histories for our doctors, and assisting with diagnostics in the treatment area.

Known as the “crazy animal lady” among friends, Erica shares her home with two beloved cats - Lynus and Lupinher - sweet Boxer, Ramsey, and a ball python named Sunny.

In her free time, Erica enjoys kayaking, hiking new trails with her dog, capturing nature’s beauty through photography, cooking, reading, and leisurely horseback riding. Passionate about her work, Erica loves the ever-changing nature of her role, finding joy in helping animals feel better and assisting clients with their questions and concerns.

    My lifelong passion for animals inspired me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, horses, and even reptiles, I knew from a young age this was my calling. I’m driven by a love for caring for animals and educating pet owners to help their companions live their best lives.
