Born and raised in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland, Dr. Sydney is thrilled to return home to care for pets and their families. A 2023 graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College, Dr. Sydney brings a fresh perspective and a passion for veterinary medicine, with special interests in behavior and preventative care. She’s dedicated to helping pets thrive by building strong, trusting relationships with both animals and their owners.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll often find Dr. Sydney curled up with a good book or exploring the local food scene in search of her next favorite spot.

What is your favorite animal?

My favourite animal is a dog, each different breed and every individual dog has their own unique personality, and I love getting to know them.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is helping pets and their owners navigate challenging situations with care and compassion. Being able to make a difference during tough times and seeing the bond between pets and their families strengthen is what makes it all worthwhile.
How do you work with pet owners to ensure the best care for their animals?

I work closely with pet owners by listening to their concerns, understanding their goals, and collaborating to create a personalized care plan that works best for both them and their pet. Together, we ensure their furry family member gets the care they deserve.
How do you handle difficult cases and diagnoses in your practice?

When faced with difficult cases or challenging diagnoses, I take a collaborative approach, working closely with my colleagues to pool our expertise. I also dedicate time to researching the latest advancements and treatments to ensure every pet receives the most up-to-date and effective care possible.
What do you recommend to pet owners to ensure their pets lead a healthy life?

To help pets live their healthiest lives, I recommend that owners familiarize themselves with their pet’s normal behavior and habits. Staying proactive with regular vet visits and preventative care is key to catching potential issues early and keeping your furry friends happy and thriving!
