Born in Newfoundland, Michelle has lived in Nova Scotia, British Columbia, and even volunteered in Guatemala but now, she is back in Newfoundland and with us right here at Kenmount Road!
Once she completed her bachelor’s degree in biology, Michelle pursued a diploma in Veterinary Technology in Nova Scotia. From there, she moved to British Columbia with adventure in mind and a desire to help animals. In addition to dogs and cats, she has cared for many types of pocket pets, birds, fish, and reptiles. Michelle also worked in a microbiology lab, a marine aquarium, and doing research. Her most exciting animal experience was her veterinary medical volunteer trip to Guatemala where she helped rehabilitate many species of exotic wildlife, including scarlet macaw parrots and spider monkeys!
Over the years, Michelle’s big heart coupled with her knowledge and experience with animals has led her to working with Rainbow Riders (a therapeutic horse riding program for children). the BC SPCA Vancouver Animal Hospital, and St. John’s SPCA.
When not at work, Michelle is pursuing an education degree. In her free time, she can be found hiking or roller skating in this beautiful province. Her evenings are mostly spent curled up with her cat, Kiwi, and binge watching a good Netflix Series.
