Life’s about animals and the great outdoors! Although Hilary spends much of her time at Memorial University (where she’s completing her Bachelor of Business Administration), her love of animals remains a top priority! She is an avid volunteer with the St. John’s SPCA, and many of you may recognize her from the SPCA SNAP program that is held in our clinic. Hilary hopes to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine by attending veterinary school in PEI in the future.
Between work, school, and volunteering, you’ll find Hilary spending every spare moment with with her childhood dog, Andy (or as she’s nicknamed him, Bear, for his teddy bear like cuddles), and her rescue cat Ally from the CBS Humane Society. At the senior age of 14, Bear needs a little extra care since he is now blind and is a diabetic, however this doesn’t stop Ally, a tiny calico with major cattitude, from picking at him every chance she gets!
On her weekend’s off, you’ll find Hilary and Bear camping in Green’s Harbour, which is her favourite place in the entire world. Hilary went on her first camping trip when she was just a few weeks old and when asked if she’d rather go camping or on a vacation you can be sure she’ll tell you the country is the only place for her!
